Rental Info & Policy
Availability
Crewest Gallery is a retail art gallery located at 108-110-112 E. Winston Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Monday through Sunday or by special arrangement. The date requested for rental is considered upon receipt of a deposit. Crewest Gallery is only responsible for the rental of its public spaces, and is not an event planner.
All functions must be deemed appropriate to the gallery facilities and must not interfere with, or attempt to conceal, the artwork on display. Preferences will be given to applications with a positive media relation’s angle and ability to enhance the Gallery’s branding and image.
Due to the delicate nature of some of artwork and the function of our business, Crewest reserves the right to approve rental application and may deem certain events unsuitable for the Gallery.

Damage Deposit
Damage deposit for standard reception: $500.00
(Due 3 days before the rental date)
The Renter agrees to compensate the Gallery for any property damage caused by their patrons, guests, or staff during the setup, the event and the cleanup, including but not limited to damage done to exhibited artwork. The damage deposit will be refunded on the Wednesday following the Event, minus any damages or cleaning fees. The Gallery is not liable for any injury occurring to any patron, guest or staff member at The Event.
Application Procedure
Upon completion of the application, a 50% deposit must be submitted with the application to secure space for requested time and date. Upon approval of the application, we will send you the written agreement. Once it’s signed, the deposit is non-refundable. The balance of the rental fee and all other charges will be due 30 days before the date of rental. Failure to submit payment at that time will void the rental agreement. Crewest Gallery is not able to extend credit but can accept Master Charge or Visa, with a 3% service charge. All checks are to be made payable to Crewest Gallery.
The Renter should distinguish between party ending time and house closing time. Party ending time means the time the clean-up begins, the band stops playing and the bar(s) closes. House closing time is the time when all persons are out of the building. House closing time is 11:00 p.m. In the event the Renter should need or want to extend these hours, prior approval is required, an additional fee of $500.00 dollars per hour may be applied.
Certificate of Insurance
The Renter must supply a certificate of insurance including bodily injury and property damage. A minimum of $1 million in liability coverage is required. The Certificate should be delivered at least 72 hours before the event. Failure to deliver a satisfactory Certificate of Insurance will result in cancellation of the event and forfeit of deposit. An underwriter for single-event insurance will be obtained for you at an additional fee if you do not have the standard business insurance that covers the Event.
Signage
Renter may place posters and information in the front window and place their own sandwich board with publicity information on the sidewalk in front of the gallery during the hours of rental.
Parking
Crewest Gallery has no parking on the premises. There may be street parking after 6:00 p.m. We can arrange with the commercial parking lots across street upon request. Valets are suggested for events over 50 people for parking ease.
Staffing
The Renter will provide adequate staffing for The Event (Event Staff), which will include but not be limited to two minimum designated security guards, who will among other things, ensure that no artwork, gallery properties or beverages leave the building, no smoking inside the building, keeping out uninvited transients, and that a general pleasant behavior is maintained by all of The Event guests. The security guards must be in visible uniform. The Gallery can hire security guards for you at additional fee as agreed upon in written addendum. The Gallery will provide no service staff for The Event. However, the gallery will have present at the event two gallery staff/monitors to monitor against damage done to the Gallery or the Gallery contents. The Gallery Monitors will be introduced to the entire Event Staff before The Event. The Gallery Monitor(s) are the spokespeople for the Gallery and any reasonable request they make to the Event Staff will be carried out in a professional and timely manner by the Event Staff.
Alcohol Consumption
The Gallery will provide no alcoholic beverages. If the Renter chooses to provide alcohol for the event, such alcohol will not be sold, and no implied suggestions for sale or donation of alcohol will be made. No alcohol from The Event is permitted to be outside of the Gallery building. No alcohol will be served to persons under 21 years of age. Bartender(s) will be required to serve alcohol and no guests should be self-serving alcohol. Bartenders will be professional and obey the laws pertaining to the serving of alcoholic beverages.
Entrance Fee
The Gallery will not charge an entrance fee to The Event. If The Renter chooses to charge an entrance fee for The Event, it will be a uniform fee and will not be for pecuniary gain. Any income from an Entrance fee charged by the Renter should be donation to a not-for-profit organization only.

Event Planner / Caterer Responsibilities
- The event planner/caterers working at Crewest Gallery must have copies of their business licenses, certificates of insurance, and proof of workman's compensation on file with the Gallery.
- A representative for the event planner/caterer must be on site through out the entire event. Beginning at time of delivery of supplies, until end of clean up.
- Event planner/caterers are responsible for unloading, setting up, and reloading all their goods. In the event the event planner/caterer not show at the time of arrival of supplies, a $500.00 surcharge will be assessed.
- All rented items or delivered goods (alcohol, flowers, video equipment, etc., etc.) must be signed for by the Renter or event planner/caterer. No Exceptions.
- Caterers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in all public spaces of the gallery, including restrooms during the event.
- Caterers must collect all glasses, dishes, trash, etc. during the event to avoid unsightly pileup. Rental items such as dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. are to be rinsed by the caterer and neatly placed in the original boxes provided. Non-returnable items such as paper items should be discarded in trash cans.
- Caterers are responsible for all cleaning all public spaces in the gallery including the restrooms after the event. This includes the sinks, counter tops, trash, and especially the sweeping of the main gallery floors, this includes mopping, if necessary.
- All garbage bags are to be sealed before the caterer takes them to the dumpster. There will be absolutely no dumping onto the grounds.
- All items do not belong to the Gallery should be removed and picked up by close time. A $500 surcharge will be assessed for anything abandoned at the Gallery.
- There is to be absolutely no food or bulk items emptied into the sinks as they clog easily.
- All empty bottles are to be disposed of in the boxes they came in and carried to the dumpster. Bottles are not to be thrown in the garbage cans. Ice buckets with wraps and corks should be filtered into the trash.
- Caterers are to provide all necessary tools such as trash bags, can openers, foil, pots, towels, dish detergent, knives, and other supplies necessary to carry out their duties. Crewest Gallery cannot provide any of the above items.
House Rules
- The rental agreement is between Crewest Gallery and the Renter; the Renter is solely responsible for any and all monies owed and to its vendors.
- Crewest Gallery will not remove any significant element(s) of any exhibition to accommodate any event. Crewest Gallery reserves the right to refuse to move any work(s) of art, or to conceal it by any means what so ever.
- At no time will artwork or furniture be moved without prior permission. All installations or shows are to remain intact.
- There can be absolutely nothing hung, nailed, or taped to the walls at Crewest Gallery without the permission of gallery personnel.
- All publicity concerning Crewest Gallery must be approved through Crewest Gallery by the owner and/or Gallery Rental Manager.
- The Renter or a representative for the Renter, i.e. the event planner/caterer must be on site through out the entire event.
- Crewest Gallery cannot assume responsibility for items left by the caterer, guests, or Renter. Caterers or Renter are responsible for removing all articles brought in during the rental event.
- The music volume must be reasonable and comply with Los Angeles City ordinance. Management and staff may instruct band to lower volume or shut down if not able to comply. Renter agrees to pay any fines, which are a result of the violations caused by The Event or the Event’s patrons, guests, vendors, or staff. The Renter assumes responsibility for attaining the proper permits, if any, to legally hold the Event at the Gallery.
- Smoking is not allowed inside the gallery.
- No food or drinks or promotional material are to be placed on the artwork or sculpture. Any damages caused to any artwork or furnishing will be billed at the full retail value with payment due and payable, without offset or demand, within seven days of the event.
- Renter should respect and follow the rules and laws. Illegal drug usage/sales, prostitution, violence, vandalism and other problems will not be tolerated or condoned by The Gallery. Renter is solely responsible for the actions of his/her staff, vendors and guests at all time.
The policy may be modified without notice. The up-to-date policy will be provided with the rental application.
