Experience Interstellar Transmissions, a series of paintings/digital
prints/photographs transmitted from deep space by Abdul Qadim Haqq,
who has created record cover artwork for Detroit Techno labels Underground
Resistance and Red Planet; and by Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca, who
has created record cover artwork for Metroplex, Los Hermanos and
Axis Records. Abdul and Gustavo work in the ancient tradition of
fusing artwork with music. In recent times, this fusion has been
deepened by artists Tadanori Yokoo (who created record covers for
Miles Davis, Santana, Pharoah Sanders), Shusei Nagaoka (who created
record covers for Earth Wind & Fire) and Pedro Bell (who created
record covers for Funkadelic). And now Abdul and Gustavo create
artwork inspired, conceptualized and created in collaboration with
the rhythms of Techno and electronic music.
